The Directorate General National Cadet Corps (DGNCC), under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has announced recruitment for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) on a contractual basis. As per the expansion plan of the NCC, this recruitment drive aims to hire Ex-Servicemen as Instructor Staff across various NCC units in different states. Positions Available:

  1. Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) – Subedar/Nai Subedar
  2. Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) – Havildar

Vacancies:

The ESM will be hired for 36 NCC units across five different State NCC Directorates. The state-wise distribution of vacancies is as follows:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Rank Requirement: Candidates must have retired from the Indian Army in the rank of:
    • JCO for Subedar/Nai Subedar positions.
    • NCO for Havildar positions.
  • Service Requirement: Retired Ex-Servicemen from all Army Arms & Services are eligible. Preference will be given to those who have served in Category ‘A’ and Category ‘B’ Training Establishments or Regimental Centres as instructors.
  • Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit and should have been in Medical Category SHAPE-1 at the time of discharge. They should also provide a present medical fitness certificate.
  • Discipline Record: The candidate must have no more than one red ink entry during their service. There should be no red ink entry in the last five years of service.
  • Gap in Service: The gap between retirement and the date of hiring should not exceed two years. Candidates should have retired on or after 31 August 2022.

Application Process:

  1. Online Application: Interested candidates must fill in the online application form on the respective State Directorate website or send it via email/post. Applications must be supported by scanned copies of relevant documents such as Aadhaar card, address proof, PPO, and character certificate from the last unit.
  2. Documents Submission: Candidates must upload or attach their scanned documents in a single PDF file (maximum size: 5 MB).
  3. Deadline: The last date to submit applications is 5th October 2024.

Selection Procedure:

  1. Screening: After the submission of applications, a Board of Officers at each State NCC Directorate will screen the applications to ensure the candidate meets the eligibility criteria.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. The interview details, including the date and location, will be communicated via email.
  3. Documents Verification: After clearing the interview, candidates must undergo a detailed document verification process, including police verification.
  4. Contract Agreement: Selected candidates will sign a contract with the State Directorate, specifying their job responsibilities, salary, and other terms of service.
  5. Induction: Once the contract is signed, candidates will be inducted and placed in their respective posts.

Job Terms and Conditions:

  • Contract Period: The initial contract period is for two years, with the possibility of an extension for 11 months based on performance.
  • Probation Period: There is a probation period of three months from the date of joining. During this period, if the individual is found unfit or lacking discipline, their employment can be terminated.
  • Salary:
    • JCO: ₹45,000 per month (inclusive of all allowances).
    • NCO: ₹35,000 per month (inclusive of all allowances).
    • Annual increment of 3% will be provided.

Additional Benefits:

  • Medical Facilities: As per Ex-Servicemen entitlement.
  • Leave Policy: Earned leave of 1.5 days per month is applicable, which can be accumulated up to two months.
  • Insurance: Candidates should be subscribed to the Army Group Insurance Fund (AGIF). A declaration of insurance coverage must be submitted.

Locations for Employment:

The NCC Directorates have listed specific locations where the Ex-Servicemen will be employed. Some of these locations are:

  • Bihar & Jharkhand: Patna, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Sasaram
  • Punjab, Haryana, HP & Chandigarh: Hisar, Gurugram, Rewari, Ambala
  • Uttar Pradesh: Aligarh, Bareilly, Kanpur, Lucknow
  • Maharashtra: Pune, Aurangabad, Amravati
  • North East Region: Jorhat, Golaghat, Dibrugarh, Tura
