Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) have jointly released the biggest combined recruitment drive of the decade through CBSE – Recruitment Notification 01/2025 – and for the first time in many years, a clear, dedicated, and substantial Ex-Servicemen (ESM) quota has been announced in Group-C non-teaching posts.
A total of 175+ confirmed ESM vacancies are available across Junior Secretariat Assistant, Senior Secretariat Assistant, Stenographer, Lab Attendant and Multi-Tasking Staff cadres – the highest number ever offered in a single KVS-NVS combined notification.

JCOs/NCOs who have worked in unit orderlies, clerk posts, PA/PS, record offices, pay accounts, adjutant branches – this is literally your military job in civilian uniform. Typing speed 35 wpm English/30 wpm Hindi required – most of you already clear this in service. Thousands of ESM clear this exam every year in SSC/IBPS, here the quota is huge and competition within ESM will be low.
Senior Secretariat Assistant (Level-4) – 28 vacancies (KVS) For JCOs who have done Regimental Police, Provost, Admin JCO, Quarter Master Havildar duties. Experience of file work, establishment, discipline & vigilance matters is directly transferable. Promotion to Assistant Section Officer (Level-7) within 5–8 years is very common.
Stenographer Grade-II (Level-4) – 3 vacancies (KVS) Perfect for ex-Stenographers/PAs of Army/Navy/Air Force. 80 wpm shorthand – many of you already have this skill.
Lab Attendant (Level-1) – 16 vacancies (NVS) Ideal for retired tradesmen, technicians, nursing assistants, lab technicians from AMC, EME, Signals. Work in Physics/Chemistry/Biology labs of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas – easy job, good respect, quarter available.
Multi-Tasking Staff (Level-1) – 2 vacancies (NVS HQ/RO) Though only 2, these are in Regional Offices/NOIDA HQ – perfect for those who want city posting and light duties.
